Primary 7 Transition Events

Whilst arrangements for the primary 7 transition activities have been underway for some time, post-Easter sees the events and visits finally launched.

Lots of activities are planned for the primary 7 pupils, in an effort that the move from their primary school to Kirkintilloch High School is seamless. After school sessions are planned; this will enable the primary 7 pupils to meet some of the secondary school teachers and to start to find their way around the building. Pupil and parent/carer workshops have also been planned, giving children and their parent/carer the chance to work and learn together, as well as affording everyone the opportunity to ask any pressing questions that they may have. A parent information evening will take place, where more factual information will be passed on and questions can be answered. The culmination of the transition events will be the induction days where pupils, in their new guidance groupings, follow their timetables, finally experiencing life at Kirkintilloch High School.
Mrs Fraser, Depute Head Teacher of S1/S2, has visited some of the cluster primary 7 classes already and plans to meet all pupils within the next few weeks.
Exciting times ahead for the current P7 pupils, and the staff and pupils of Kirkintilloch High School are looking forward to meeting them.
