Teenage Cancer Trust

Iona MacMillan from the Teenage Cancer Trust visited Kirkintilloch High School recently and gave an insightful and interactive talk on the issue of cancer in teenagers, what the signs are, how to take preventative steps and how this charity helps those affected. The talk was delivered in a very relaxed way, making a taboo subject more discussable, and creating involvement from the audience. Speaking on behalf of my fellow students, I feel I have a better awareness of how to take the steps to prevent cancer and the warning signs to look out for, as well as a better overall idea of what the charity does to make the lives of those afflicted a bit easier.
