Art and Design News - December

The Kirkintilloch High Young Enterprise company 'Diligent' had a very successful day trading at the Dunbartonshire Area board Trade Fair on Saturday.  The company's products - recycled jewellery and keyrings - were extremely popular and almost sold out raising the pupils more than £100 in profit!  If you didn't make it along to the event, you can buy some of their fantastic pieces at many local Christmas fairs over the next few weeks!

Pecha Kucha

Two Advanced Higher pupils were involved in the Tales and Trails Pecha Kucha event at William Patrick Library recently.  Aimee Dallas and Rhianne Forrest, along with their class, have been working with artists Kate Black and Rachel Mimiec on making connections between East Dunbartonshie artists and artists they have chosen to influence their advanced higher practical work.  Over 6 weeks, they have developed research skills and worked hard to improve their confidence when presenting.  Their final presentations feature a fast paced 20 slides each shown for 20 seconds, with the girls providing a highly entertaining and informative commentary.  Well done to all of the pupils involved and huge thanks to Rachel and Kate for leading the project.
