The Big Debate

On Friday 28th August BBC Radio Scotland’s Big Debate road show came to the Park Centre in Kirkintilloch. This was viewed as an opportunity not to be missed by the staff and pupils of Kirkintilloch High School’s Modern Studies department. As such, all of this session’s Higher Modern Studies pupils attended the event, which proved to be a fascinating, informative and highly enjoyable occasion. The pupils confidently took part in the discussion, in particular asking probing questions to the panel of politicians and journalists about equality issues and public transport. After the event pupils were able to mingle with John Nicolson MP and BBC presenter and host of the event, Gordon Brewer – both of whom were very good humoured, generous with their time and keen to hear about the pupils and their school.
