British Council International School Award

Kirkintilloch High School has recently achieved the British Council International School Award for its Global Citizenship initiatives. The school has established a partnership with a school in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which allowed first and second year pupils to communicate with their peers in Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires. Communicating via secure video clips and written messages, pupils were given the opportunity to learn about a different culture, whilst refining their Spanish skills.

A representative of The British Council highlighted Kirkintilloch High School’s dedication to Global Citizenship across the school, stating: “The attention to detail in developing a global ethos across the school is obvious, as is the enthusiasm of pupils and staff to embrace international opportunities.”

Kirkintilloch High School will now continue to create opportunities for pupils to partake in activities associated with Global Citizenship, and promote global awareness, in order to work towards achieving Intermediate accreditation.
