Careers event report

Senior pupils of Kirkintilloch High School had the opportunity to speak to a variety of advisers for higher and further education, at an evening event held in the school, on Tuesday 13th of September.  From college to university, the army to the police force, pupils had an array of career paths to explore. There, they were guided on subject choice, personal statements and entry requirements, all important information for the future generation of first year students. Dianne Dixon, Head of Admissions at Stirling University, delivered a presentation to pupils and parents about the UCAS application which students will need to fulfil in upcoming months.

The following day, S5& 6 pupils had the opportunity to attend the Glasgow Science Centre for a UCAS conference. This allowed pupils to talk to a wider range of universities and colleges from all across Scotland. Pupils enjoyed the experience and benefited from face – to – face guidance for their applications.
