Bannockburn Trip

On Thursday 16th February S1 pupils had the opportunity to visit the Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre to help deepen their understanding of their current topic, the Scottish Wars of Independence. The pupils were able to engage in their learning through many formats such as examining replicas of historical artefacts and armour, developing a visual understanding of soldier experiences through 3D film and learning about battle tactics via an interactive battle experience.

The visit was extremely valuable to their learner journeys as they were able to strengthen their team work skills and develop further knowledge and understanding which they will be able to apply during lessons and use to support their peers through the rest of the topic.

The pupils showed great excitement and enthusiasm for the experience and were a credit to the school. It was a day that was enjoyed by all.

Many thanks to Miss Henderson, Mr Bowen and Mrs Green.
