Sport Relief 2012

Sport Relief 2012 kicked off in Kirkintilloch High School on Friday 23rd March when all 1st and 2nd year pupils took part in a Sport Relief Mile. Organised by the PE department, the event was planned to ensure all pupils had the opportunity to get active and have lots of fun to raise money for Sport Relief.

Sport Relief Friday challenged pupils to walk or jog one mile in a variety of enjoyable and energetic ways. Pupils walked the mile backwards, ran as a pair ‘three-legged’, gave each other ‘piggyback’ rides, or raced to be first finished. Which meant - sporty or not – everyone was a winner! Many pupils set themselves a further challenge and travelled up to three miles.
Not only did pupils feel good from taking part, they did a good deed too. Over £1600 was raised on the day, a fantastic effort from all pupils and staff involved. All money raised will be spent by Comic Relief to help change lives at home in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.
