Textile workshop

All Higher and Advanced Higher pupils enjoyed a workshop with members
of the Embroiderers Guild this week as part of their design unit.
Pupils enjoyed the opportunity to create textile samples and try out
various stitching techniques. This will hopefully be very useful to
them as they progress to making their final hat design.

Clay Club

The art and design Department is pleased that the clay club has resumed
on a Thursday after school for pupils in S1-4.

The art and design department were honoured to again be involved in
producing the art work for the annual Holocaust Memorial assembly last
week. Advanced Higher pupils each created a large scale piece of art
work on the theme of 'Building Bridges' and the work was displayed in
the corridor for guests to view as they entered the assembly hall.
Photo attached. Thomas Bain, a budding architect student, was also
involved in the creation of a symbolic bridge used as the back drop for
the assembly and to which pupils, staff and guests each added a brick
during the assembly.
