Kirkintilloch High School Astronomy Club

The Kirkintilloch High School Astronomy Club (KHSAS) was established in September 2013, with the main aim of promoting and increasing the interest in amateur astronomy within the Kirkintilloch High School community.

The club meets on the first Wednesday of every month, 1-1.20pm in room S027. At the monthly meetings attendees receive a monthly newsletter, which will provide suggestions and tips about what to be looking for in the night sky the forthcoming month. Also look out for the monthly quiz!

It is anticipated that in future months, the club will invite guest speakers to talk about all manner of astronomical events. Members will also be able to try their hand at astrophotography and share their images with the rest of the group

In January, the club will be hoping to organise a fund-raising star party to coincide with the BBC TWO Stargazing Live television programme - more details about the party and how you could come along and join in later!

So even if you don't know the difference between a reflector and refractor telescope, and can't quite tell the difference between an asteroid and an asterism but do have an interest in the night sky, then the KHSAS is for you!
