Higher Health and Food Technology

The aim of this course is to deliver candidates' personal effectiveness in using and managing resources in the context of Health and Food Technology and adding to the dimensions of self, family, and community, a range of challenging experiences relating to the food industry.  The course comprises of two mandatory units:-

  • Resource Management
  • Consumer Studies

The study of Health and Food Technology enables candidates to focus on physical, chemical, nutritional, biological and sensory properties of food, and on ways in which these properties can be manipulated when manufacturing design and make food products.


The candidate must achieve all component units of the course as well as the external assessment consisting of a question paper and a Technological Project.
