Higher PE
Modern day Physical Education consists of certificated courses which offer UCAS accredited pathways in to Higher and further education.
Kirkintilloch High School offers pupils in S5 and S6 the opportunity to follow a Higher Physical Education course. Courses leading to National Qualifications are offered at Higher, Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 1.
All courses provide candidates with the opportunity to study Physical Education at a challenging level and develop critical and imaginative practice in order to achieve a detailed understanding of practical performance and the ways it can be improved.
Courses are designed to serve the needs of those pupils who wish to study the subject as part of their general education and candidates who wish to pursue a career related to physical activity. The level at which pupils are presented is dependent on their previous experience and attainment in physical education
