Last week all S3 pupils took part in a Learning Through Work Event, which was part of a national programme to raise awareness of the benefits of work-based learning and Modern Apprenticeships. The event gave S3 pupils an insight into the practical benefits of work-based learning by offering them an opportunity to hear directly from local employers. Pupils learned about modern apprenticeships available from a variety of employers including: Aviva Insurance, Carousel Childcare, TSB bank and CITB. The pupils learned about what a Modern Apprenticeship involves, the recruitment process, promotion prospects and the number of Modern Apprenticeships each employers offer on a yearly basis.
